20p Vending Machine - talking and moving Rabbit, Bears, Parrot in a cage?

Does anybody remeber these childrens vending machines last time i saw one was proberly at Butlins a couple of years ago, basically you had a toy animal inside of a vending machine box/cage and you used to insert 20p it would talk and move a little and finally give you your toy capsules.

Does anybody remeber these??

Anyone have a web link or any pictures??

Thanks.20p Vending Machine - talking and moving Rabbit, Bears, Parrot in a cage?
Assuming it is the roughly the same type machine as we have here in the US. (down about half way) http://www.x-entertainment.com/articles/鈥?/a>

Most of ours tended to be that plastic chicken or a larger plush parrot

I live in west london and have a recipe for a pie but cant find a rabbit, does anyone know of a butchers that sells them??Rabbit in west london?
They have them in one of the butcher's at Borough Market.

Sometimes Farmer's Markets have them.

Try searching for a 'Game' Butcher in Google. Not sure where you are in West London, else would have narrowed the search.

Will an unspayed female rabbit get along with a neutered male rabbit?

If you properly bond them they should get along. We have plenty of neutered bucks that we have bonded to our non breeding does.

Bonding can happen quickly or it can be a long process. This web-site will tell you what you need to do:

Good luckWill an unspayed female rabbit get along with a neutered male rabbit?
I think it depends more on the rabbits. My sisters rabbit [a boy] LOVES my rabbit [a girl]. But my rabbit can not stand being in the same room with him. So first figure out if theyll get along. Will an unspayed female rabbit get along with a neutered male rabbit?
No, Well.. it depends... The other day a girl rabbit ripped of her desexed brothers ear!

You really shouldn't risk it so get them both fixed

What kinds of things can a rabbit do?

like i want to know can they play fetch or anything cuz i wonder if they can do any tricks or any things like purr or etc. lol kinda weird like cats and dogs hehe x]

    just curious [;

thx for helping!!!!What kinds of things can a rabbit do?
Well you can teach them to come to their name, you can teach them to use a litter box, you may be able to teach it to fetch, but most bunnies don't. You could probably train him to do some sort of routine, like run around your legs 3 times, then go under the bed around the dresser and back, or somethin.

This is hard, but may work.

If your rabbit is smart enough I bet you could train him voice commands. My baby doesn't know anything other than her name, and how to use her litter box. What kinds of things can a rabbit do?
yes surprisingly they can! Rabbits you can them yogurt treats and teach them to lay down spiin in a circle! i tought my rabbits too! I have 7 but only 4 of them do tricks the others are stubbern!!! well you can also go to youtube and search rabbits and there is a whole bunch of videos and some on there do tricks!!!

    hope i helped!

My bunny had a neat trick ~ not very exciting, but neat.

I would lay him on his back and slowly rub his belly. They go into sort of a trance like state sort of asleep. When you touched his paw or nose he would snap out of it and jump to his feet.

Like I said, not too exciting, but a trick nonetheless!
They can eat your furniture if you keep them inside.

Is Florida too hot for a rabbit?

I might be buying a rabbit and I want to keep it in a pen outside in the shade in my patio. I live in Florida and in the summer the temperature is usually 80-90 degrees. What should I do if this is too hot for a rabbit? Is Florida too hot for a rabbit?
Florida is fine for a rabbit, as long as you keep on top of their care on those hot summer days. There are plenty of rabbit breeders in California that I know who face temperature over 100 degrees in the summer, and their rabbits (although uncomfortable) do fine because they keep ontop of their care.

I devoted a page of my rabbit care website to tips on keeping your rabbit cool in the summer. You can find them here:

    http://oakridgecare.bravehost.com/summer鈥?/a>

Good luck! Stay cool!Is Florida too hot for a rabbit?
no , don't leave your rabbit outside, my friends rabbit over heated cause it lived outside in the patio in the shade. this happened to my friend's rabbit and he lives in Florida too, please, for the rabbit's sake let it live inside, plus its less exspensive, if you let it live outside you have to pay for flea medicine and mabe heart worm medicine, and flea/heart worm medicine is exspensive. inside cages arn;t that exspensive (i think it's less exspensive then the outside cages).

And alot of rabbit owners let their rabbits run loose in the house.

    so let it live inside.

80 is the MAX temp a rabbit can tolerate. higher than 80 they can die of heat stroke.... a rabbit CANNOT be kept outside in florida... however inside with AC is ok

What can i feed a pet rabbit?

ive heard they can eat grass and wild onions and those yellow flowers is that true and what else can i feed it?What can i feed a pet rabbit?
The absolute best most comprehensive list I have found of what to feed rabbits is http://www.bunnyrescue.net/BunnyBasics07鈥?/a> I know the lady who put this together and I adopted my rabbit from her and fostered for her.

    Most important things to remember:

    1) endless supply of grass hay, preferably Timothy Hay

    2) salads. Depending on how big your rabbit is, but I feed mine two small plates a day.

    3) least important, pellet food. Get the basic purina rabbit chow. My rabbit, ~7 lbs, gets 1/4 cup in the morning and 1/4 cup in the evening.

Some rabbits like different foods, but most like romaine lettuce and green leaf lettuce. My other rabbit loved spinach, but my current rabbit doesn't. I buy lettuce (not iceberg!), cilantro (his favorite), and parsley. Every now and then he gets carrot tops when they look good in the grocery store. Raisins are his favorite treat, but my other rabbit could smell a banana from 20 feet away! If you run out of food and can't get to the grocery store for a day, you can always pick clovers, dandelion flowers and leaves, and violets that grow in your yard.

Enjoy your rabbit! THey have amazing personalities when you get to know them, but they can also sure be ornery!

What can i feed a pet rabbit?
You should feed you rabbit lots if grass hay (like timothy), some pellets (1/4 cup per 5lbs of body weight), and veggies.

Some good veggies are romaine lettuce (no iceberg), parsley, cilantro, carrot tops. Leafy green veggies are the best. http://www.rabbit.org/care/veggies.html

The pellets should be timothy based. Avoid ones with extra bits or that have corn in them. Oxbow makes a good pellets, but there are some other good brands.

    Hello,

When you are considering foods for your rabbit bare in mind that rabbits have a very unique digestive tract which is designed and built to digest roughage. Rich foods and those not high in fibre are not good for rabbits at all and so should be avoided. Likewise so should certain types of watery vegetables and fruit which can cause diarrhoea.

A rabbits diet should be made up mainly of hay with timothy hay being the most preferable. This helps to give the rabbit as much fibre as possible to keep the gut moving. Secondly a good quality pellet again high in fibre. You can check bags of food yourself - the fibre content should really be 18%+ to be a good one. Try to avoid mixed foods such as the museli mixes out there as these are often the cause of picky eating which can result in obesity, dental problems and other deficiencies. A complete pellet is much better as it doesn't give the rabbit the option to pick at it's food!

You can also buy something such as ReadiGrass/Just Grass/Graze On (these all available in the UK) which is dried grass usually sold at equine outlets and feed stores.

Some veg is fine to be given but if you're rabbit hasn't had it before or you're not sure if he's had it then make sure you give him a mouthful at a time and let him adjust slowly. Give him too much at once and there is a good chance he will gorge himself on it and get an upset stomach. Good greens to give include carrot, cauliflower leaves, spring greens, kale and similar. Dandelion is also great to give and is good for upset tummies although again in moderation! Fruits can be given but these should always be limited to a very occasional treat as are more likely to cause digestive problems.

You can buy dried herbs and what would be classed as weeds online and all bunny safe. If you would like some ideas go to www.thehayexperts.co.uk They are again UK based but they do have a list of safe herbs that rabbits can have and they are very good, from that information you should be able to find a supplier closer to home.

    Hope this helps :)
DONT feed it lettuce leaves. People always think this is what you feed them. But you don't.

Feed him traditional carrots, and broccoli. Danilion flowers, they don't tend to like very much, but perfectly edible. But its the actual leaves they like the best.

I don't know your situation, but you can get dry food rather cheaply from any pet store.
Just buy pellets for your rabbit at any petstore.

if you plan on breeding do not feed it broccoli. it gives them horrible gas and will kill any kits. carrot tops, grass, timothy hay. a pelleted feed is good and gives them a very well rounded diet. i use purina and give them treats about twice a week.
Get it pellets so it gets all the nutrition it needs. If it's under 6 months old, get alfalfa based pellets and alfalfa hay. It's high in calcium which they need for growth. If over 6 months, give Timothy based pellets and Timothy hat.
i had 2 rabbits but now i have 1 and their fave food is dried banana, wet lettuce, dry carrots and apples. they usually eat dry food from pet stores as well but they weren't very keen of it.

If the mother is used to you and used to your smell, it shouldn't be a problem if you hold him for short periods of time. It would help if you held the mother first, just so you have her scent all over your hands.when you hold the baby (which will help comfort the baby). When can i hold my baby rabbit?

your supposed to wait until they are 8 weeks old if you breeded it then just wait till it is at least a month old.

I just spilled beer on my rabbit fur sporran, is there a way to clean it or am I hosed?

Just get a damp cloth put a little fabric softner on it to take away the stale smell of beer (if you like) and gently rub the fur in one direction. Let dry and gently steam over a boiling kettle not getting too near and this should straighten out the fur and make it glossy again.I just spilled beer on my rabbit fur sporran, is there a way to clean it or am I hosed?
if poop rolls off a rabbit with no problem than your beer should come out just fineI just spilled beer on my rabbit fur sporran, is there a way to clean it or am I hosed?
Rabbit fur sporans are supposed to smell like beer, this is natural and impressively manly.
Rabbit fur is always washable.. just use a damp cloth.
i would just wipe it dry with a damp towel.

if you think further cleaning is needed take it to an upscale dry cleaners
I may be WWWAAYYY out of line here, but I would try gently cleaning it with some plain water......it can't be any worse than the beer. Besides, bunnys get wet all the time. You should be able to fluff up the pelt after it is dry if it appears matted.

I heard that your suppose to wait two weeks before touching them. when the babies are first born when there asleep can you tell if their still breathing? please help! Thanks for the help guys my rabbit had her babies. But how can I tell to see how many babies she had?
pet the mother first so you have her smell on yourhand then make sure the mom wont charge you and you can just move the fur and stuff in th nest so you can see.... you should do this to check on them every once in a while to make sure they are all moving aroundThanks for the help guys my rabbit had her babies. But how can I tell to see how many babies she had?
don't worry about waiting i touch all my baby rabbits ( 3-5 litters year) from the time they are born/
It really depends on the mom, but you're probably much better safe than sorry at this point. I know it's sooo hard to be patient, but (especially if she's a firt-time mom) then I definitely reccomend leaving them all alone for at least one week, maybe two. After that, their bond will have had a lot of time to grow and you very gently touching her babies shouldn't bother her too much.

    Good luck with the babies!
best thing is leave them alone for a few days. let the mom calm down after all the stress she just went thru. then make sure your hands dont smell like any lotion or soap or anything. rub them in her bedding then you can handle them. it makes your hands smell just like the bedding so mom should be fine with it all. don't handle them much until they get older though. good luck !!
pet the mom first to get her smell on your hands then move your hand around in the fur bedding they will move when you touch them if one doesn't then bring that one out to see if it still alive. check on them they day there born then every day after that until there big enough to venture out of the box. If you Waite 2 weeks you might not like what you find. Because some times they get squashed my the mother when she goes to feed them.

Rabbit urine turned red after drenching in water. What to do?

After drenching my female pet rabbit in cold water multiple times yesterday, it screamed then shivered the whole night. In the morning it was dry and seemingly alright. Moving about and eating food. However, I noticed its urine is now red.

Is the likely cause the drenching?

What can I do to make the rabbit's urine go back to normal color? I am thinking about feeding it some food coloring (yellow color) or feeding it yellow or orange foods such as some jelly beans.Rabbit urine turned red after drenching in water. What to do?
This red urine is almost definately from the soaking... Rabbits are not water animals, they only go near it if they have to drink, it basically scares the **** out of them... now back to the urine.... Your rabbit has been severely scared and probably spent the night in severe shock, like in humans shock can cause the body's systems to start shutting down including the KIDNEYs. Its quite possible you've sent your poor rabbit into RENAL FAILURE. TAKE HER TO THE VET.Rabbit urine turned red after drenching in water. What to do?
thats not normal get help fast

    it might b that ';time of the month';
why did you drench it in water?

bring it to the vet,it is sick!!!
I'm glad you think you're funny coz you're actually immature and lame.
GET THAT RABBIT TO AN EMRGENCY VET...NOW / changing the color of the urine won't fix the roblems, expecially if he screamed....that's like taking the light bubb out of your oil light on your car dashboard cuz it bothers you that it's on
Your rabbti screamed because it was either scared or in pain. I hope the vet yells at you!
And I am sitting here aghast!
I love how we sit here, still giving accurate advice to this...... thing. It's obvious it's either lying for attention of some sort, psychotic, or both. I mean, really, feeding a rodent jelly beans to return it's urine to a more natural color? This after drenching it repeatedly with cold water to toughen it up like a 'Navy SEAL'?

I wish I knew where this person was. I'd call the police, the SPCA, and the local mental ward. Imagined or imitated violence against animals is the first step to sociopathy and becoming a serial killer. Have fun.
You need to get a hold of the vet asap.....red urine usually means that is blood.....call the vet now....they are usually on call 24/7....

What do i need for a rabbit?

Just want to check I've got everything...What do i need for a rabbit?
You need a large cage for it (most pet store's cages are too small, so get the largest one possible). Also, make sure you get a litter box (yes they can be litter trained) and some bedding but not pine or cedar, those can be harmful, carefresh or aspen is much better and will not harm them.

Also, be sure to get pellets without little colored pieces, Those extra pieces are treats, and should not be given in the food. Obviously, you will also need a food bowl, and water bottle.

Additionally, be sure to get timothy hay, as this is extremely important, and more necessary than the pellets. They need it for both teeth and digestion. And get some fresh fruit and vegetables, but be very careful which. Rabbits cannot eat iceberg lettuce, and carrots should be fed sparingly, as they contain a lot of sugar (for a rabbit).

Last, a small home to hide in would be nice, but is not necessary.

Oh, and you also need some wood chew, avoid the colored ones as the dyes could be unhealthy for them. And look for a vet who specializes in exotics, because vets mostly learn about dogs and cats unless they specialize.

Have fun with your new friend. What do i need for a rabbit?
we have a giant house rabbit, so don't presume the bunny should be outside only. If you chose to keep bunny indoors, make sure you get a rabbit litter tray %26amp; sawdust - pet stores do a lovely line in fragranced sawdust that keeps your house fresh. if bunny is outside make sure he has a secure hutch and the largest run you can find. I would also recommend a bowl for water as the bottles can get stuck up. Oh and lots of time to play with bunny..remember they are very social creatures who live in communities in the wild so please don't condem bunny to a lonely life - my bunny loves teddies - they are her ';family';.
If it is an indoor rabbit

Cage - I suggest a puppy play pen since it will give sufficient play area when you are not around and won't be crammed in a small cage. All 'rabbit' cages are too small

    Food and Water Bowl

Quality rabbit food (Oxbow, Zupreem, American pet diner)

    Hay

    Litterbox

Litter (No wood shavings pine or cedar) - I use Wood stove pellets

    Toys

Cardboard boxes - They are a rabbits favorite thing in the world lol

    Nail Clippers

Chew toys (willow, yucca, apple wood, etc)

    Vet fund

Those are the basics I also suggest a bunny first aid kit

    and lots of research

    http://www.rabbit.org

    http://www.binkybunny.com
    You need:

    A hutch(for indoors),

    a large cage for indoors,

a water bottle(not a plastic one humans drink out of, a rabbit one that you can get from local pet shops.),

A food bowl(again not a human one, you can also get one from pet shops),

you need to clean his bedding out on a regular basis aswell,

Stuff like tubes or wooden blocks are good for them to be entertained, and a little run that they can go in, in the summer! :) heres a good sized run: http://www.petsathome.com/find/category-鈥?/a>
Well you need a medium size cage so they can hop around, water bottle, food bowl, food, maybe even a lease, maybe a little toy or something, bedding if shes inside, maybe something for her to chew on cause they love to chew on stuff so maybe you should get one so she dosent decide to chew on your finger or clothes. umm i cant think of anything else at the moment. i hope i helped some. good luck.
lol. depends what u mean, if pet, hutch, hay, water container, lots of food, leash! (i had one for mine wen i was younger) make a deal with ur local fruit veg store to take al the old veg they r goin to throw out, they love cabbage leaves.

shakespeare insults idk i cant find it anywhereWhat does thou whoreson clay-brained rabbit- sucker mean in shakespearean insults?
Hmm, did I answer this already? Heh heh.

Whoreson -- the son of a whore, son of a prostitute. A very low class of person.

Clay-brained -- clay for a brain, an idiot.

Rabbit sucker -- a weasel or rodent-like person.

How old does a female rabbit have to be to spay her?

They can be spayed as early as 4 months old, but many veterinarians prefer to wait until they are at least 6 months old because surgery is riskier on a younger rabbit. How old does a female rabbit have to be to spay her?
6 months of age. It may be 360$ or more tho and you must see a reputable exotics vet otherwise the possibility of death can be greatly increased and she can die from the medication they give her to put her to sleep while they do the operation. Make sure you do your homework and know what medications they shouldn't use and make sure their death rate for the operation is less than 1%. Always ask the price before you go in, many people do not know how expensive it can be for a female rabbit because it's more invassive than a neutering and smaller genitilia than a cat or dog.How old does a female rabbit have to be to spay her?
It depends on the breed as growth rate varies depending to size and weight and internal development. An average Dwarf/holland lop can be spayed between 4-6 months.

I have always had my doe's spayed at 6 months to make sure they are developed internally.

Spaying too soon can lead to internal complications later on

Could a squirell and a rabbit breed?

There was rumor going around that people have seen squabitts. I did not believe this but the other day I saw a squirell with a very short tail and it was hopping like a rabbit it also had larger hind legs.Could a squirell and a rabbit breed?
Though I agree with the first poster, I feel I must elaborate a bit...

Though there are differing definitions concerning what a species is (see first two links), the most basic one (and most applicable here) concerns an organisms reproductive incompatibility with another. This division results from a variety of factors including pre- and post-zygotic barriers (see third link):

Prezygotic barriers refer to those that prevent the organisms from even meeting (or physically copulating), there are 5: geographic isolation, habitat isolation, temporal isolation, behavioral isolation, and mechanical incompatibility

The 3 Postzygotic barriers affect the developing (hybrid) zygote: hybrid abnormality (usually aborts - this includes the chromosome number incompatability), hybrid infertility (think mules, they can't have offspring), low hybrid viability (think hinnys, they are less desireable than mules)

Humans can overcome most prezygotic barriers (even mechanical - through artificial insemination) for many animals (Ligers, for instance, would never be seen in the wild as tigers and lions don't live together) but we are limited by postzygotic barriers, (mules are artificially bred as well, and we got lucky there), usually the most common postzygotic barrier (abnormality) abort the offspring early on.

Rabbits and squirrels do not interbreed naturally, and I am currently unfamiliar with any rabbit/squirrel breeding programs (nor can I think of any advantages for one).

The squirrel you describe seems normal enough (they have longer hind legs) and likely just lost its tail in a fight (pretty common actually)Could a squirell and a rabbit breed?
well i guess anything is possible, but most likely the squirell had some genetic mutations, giving it a shorter tail and larger legs. maybe the creature was an entirely different creature?
Why on earth do you want to play God or Dr.Frankenstein and create a Scrabbit???That woulld be one messed up looking, jumpy, twitching animal.Would you like someone to force you to breed with a Kangaroo?I didn't think so.This is why the world is going to be messed up.Don't play with mother nature. If i ever see an over grown king kong sized squirll with big ears and a cotton tail trying to take down Japan,I will know it was you.Go get a hobby, something safe like collecting stamps.
Nope, though both of them are rodents they are too different species. it has something to do with chromosomes,

    In the case of a lion and a tiger is breed possible 'cause they are close species. The result can be a ';tigon'; or maybe a ';lioger';
well, im not exactly sure WHY you want to know, but naturally, I doubt theyed mate, it's just not natural, but if some scientist messed with it.....
No, squirrels and rabbits cannot breed. They belong to different species. This has to do with biology and the number of chromosomes in their cells.

You probably saw a squirrel that had an accident and lost part of its tail. Squirrels hop sometimes and their back legs are a little longer than their front legs, just like your legs are longer than your arms.

I found a baby bunny rabbit outside during a thunderstorm. Can I take it in my home until it stops raining?
Just leave wild baby rabbits alone. It is normal to find them without parents visible nearby. They are almost always not abandoned - the parents are probably hiding nearby because they are scared of you.

If you take it with you, your scent may cause the parents to abandon it even if you return it.
Is it wild or domestic? If it seems domestic then def. bring it in. If it looks like a wild rabbit I'd leave it outside for a bit and just keep an eye out for the mother. If the mother doesn't return within 24hours then you have reason for concern. check out the website rabbit.org for more info. about rabbits.
leave baby bunny rabbit alone....please! parents are nearby. these are wild animals that need to be left to the wild, and we don't want to interrupt mother nature's cycle. (more than we already have) rabbits are used to in-climate weather, after all, they live in it.
No. Leave it alone its mother will be coming for it.
I heard that if you touch baby bunnies then the mother won't want them after. So it is up to you, if you want to keep it, then I say yes, but if not, I would leave it out and see if it is still there in a few days. If not, then the mom probably came by and got it. =)
I don't think you should bring it in because the mommy is probably near by. IF you still see it wandering around after an hour or so, by itself, then YES, bring it in! If you are worried about its mother, maybe you should consider calling SPCA. It is probably a wild rabbit who lives near your place, my parents get a lot of those.
did you left it out? you must be wicked, take it invite it for dinner.
the mother will be looking for her little one. you are a good person with a good heart. but best let nature take over
not enough meat on it to be worth much, i'd say throw it away
I`d say bring him in until it stops raining. When it does take him to a vet. Make sure he`s alright .and if you really want him give him a nice home!!But, if you don`t post an ad on pennysaver or something like that! Not ,the shelter, because if nobody wants him then they`ll kill him. So try to find a good home for him!

Breeding small to large breed rabbit?

I have a mini rex doe, can i breed her to a small sized standard rex buck safely? thank youBreeding small to large breed rabbit?
Watch out there are two genes which determine size in a rabbit. Lets call them dwarf (l) and large (L). Your standard size rabbit has only large L genes in the gene pool. Your mini sized rabbit can have any combo of dwarf l or large L (unless of course they get ll in which case they are peanuts and destined to die). If your doe get LL kits she may not be able to push them out. Much of this depends on whether or not she has LL or Ll. My LL Holland Lop/Satin mix just lost 2 kits and went into early labor last year because they were too big. An LL is a breeding doe/meat buck Ll is a show quality animal, and ll will not survive (but you won't get them, cuz buck MUST be LL)Breeding small to large breed rabbit?
Please DO NOT breed your rabbit. Think of the thousands and thousands of bunnies that are put to death every year because they can't find homes. If you want to raise a new baby bunny, take a look at adopting one from a shelter. They have all ages, sizes, and breeds available!

Here's a list of shelters so you can find one near you: http://www.rabbit.org/adoption/index.htm鈥?/a>
usually you want it to be the other way around a large doe to small buck how small is the buck and how big is the doe if its 4lb to 5 or 6 your will probably be ok don't go any larger then that
deffinatly swich it around. the doe should always be bigger. this is for safe kindling. this way the kits will not get stuck.

How do I train My Rabbit?

iv had my rabbit for 3 years and he never listens to me, he is a boy and he is called coco.

I have tried to train him but he just dosent pay attention to me i hold out a treat and he dosent take it unless i put it infront of his mouth.

How come sometimes he dosnet run away from me and other times he does, its comfusing me is he scared of me or is he just messing aroundHow do I train My Rabbit?
I've found that when my rabbit runs away and I follow him, he gets happy and does binkies because he thinks we're playing chase. With my favorite rabbit, I would put her pellets in a little tiny basket and she would pick it up and run around with it until she had ran around the entire room. She sure had attitude. If you want a pet who does whatever you tell them, get a dog, otherwise enjoy your rabbit for being the magical joyful creature it is.How do I train My Rabbit?
Did anything happen lately that made him scared of you?because i have noticed my rabbit also runs away from me sometimes if he doesn't like me or if i make him scared.but sometimes he himself comes to me and sniffs and nibbles me.

i think he is just messing around with you.

make sure you increase the time you be with your bunny and give him more attention and pet him often.he may be lack of them.als o try to give the food he loves the most as a treat.then he will come searching of the food even if he doesn't want to come to you.

also if yuo didn't train him before i guess now it's too late to train your bunny coz he is already a grown up.

that's just my opinion.coz i'm not a professional bunny breeder.

hope everything works out well for you.!!and good luck with that!!
My rabbit sometimes does the same thing but normally he is good. He does not like being picked up but sometimes I pick him up anyway and then for the next day he is annoyed with me. This is why he is sometimes good and sometimes bad. But maybe when you go to see him you surprise him so he may get a bit scared. (If he isn't neutered you may want to consider neutering him) hope this helps.
check out this link for advice and search the web for bonding with your bunny. patience is a virtue...

How can I train a rabbit to poop in it's littler box?

he goes in corners but no where else!?How can I train a rabbit to poop in it's littler box?
Hi, To train your rabbit, When it does poop, pick up the poop and put it in the litter box.

He will eventually learn he goes in the litter box, instead of anywhere else.

    Hope I helped!

~bob~How can I train a rabbit to poop in it's littler box?
When I had rabbits they pooped in the same place. I've heard rabbits usually poop in the same place.

When you change your rabbits cage look out for where the poop is, it should be close together. Where the poop is, put the litter box there and the rabbit should poop in it, because it should poop in the same place.
Put The litter box in a corner, and place obstacles in the other corners, so he'll want to use the box. Maybe put some poop in it.

Can i feed a ferret rabbit food?

im looking into buying a ferret, and the food is way expensive, and i ahve some old rabbit food.

would that work? Can i feed a ferret rabbit food?
Okay, rabbit food won't work. Rabbits are vegetarian while ferrets are carnivores (i.e. look at the sharp teeth). Ferret food isn't too expensive in comparison to costs for food in other small animals. You just have to shop around to find a correctly balanced food.

You also have two other alternatives that I can think of off the top of my head (please by all means consult a vet or do some more research on these recommendations):

    1. You can find a kitten or cat food that has a 40% or higher protein content and a 20% or higher fat content to simulate the ferret's natural diet. However, this is going to cost you since you'll have to buy high-quality food.

    2. You can try feeding it mice that have been gut-loaded (much like your crickets) so it gets the protein and fat it needs.

No, you can't feed it mealworms or crickets. Only insectivores like reptiles or hedgehogs will be able to survive off that diet. If you really want an insectivore, try looking into hedgehogs (who will also need a cat food diet as a base with mealworms added to it).

Some final thoughts: If you cannot afford the food, then it doesn't matter if you can buy the animal or not; you won't be able to provide adequate care. Also, if you don't *want* to afford the food, you should look into another pet that would perhaps be a better fit with your lifestyle.

Please also keep in mind that you have posted a question on a public forum, thereby inviting people to give you their answers (which are usually opinions on what you should do, as my answer is). These answers are not the end-all to anything, but are suggestions for further research on your part. Please do not tell people off for giving you the opinions that you solicited by posting your question on here.

Good luck with your ferret-hunting.Can i feed a ferret rabbit food?
I have a ferret, and i wouldnt feed it anything out of the ordinary..please don't buy a ferret if you're going to just feed it rabbit food, it probably won't even eat it, than what will you do???

It'll die, and you wont forgive yourself..

Just buy it's normal food, if you cant afford it, that why cant u just get another rabbit..they dont stink as much :]
They can't have rabbit food because rabbits are vegetarians and ferrets are carnivores. It would just make them very, very sick.

They can't have meal worms or crickets, because they really don't have any meat on them.. they're just a shell, the ferret wouldn't get any nutrition from that either.

Ferret food is about 20 dollars a bag but it last FOREVER. I've had my ferret 2 months and she's hardly even eaten a 1/10 of the bag. That's like 1 dollar a month. You can feed it mice or chicks if you want, but that is going to cost you more like $1 day.

(If you think 20-30 dollars is too much to ';drop'; on a bag of ferret food, how are you going to drop 200 on a ferret, 300 on a cage, and 150 a year on the vet? My ferret just had ear mites and it cost me 125 dollars for medicine, and I had to pay it the day after I found the mites... so thats a ton of cash to spend.. not to mention litter, which is the same cost as food but certainly doesn't last as long?
no i dont think so because a ferret is not a rabbit. maybe you shouldn't buy a ferret
No you cannot as everyone said ferrets are carnivores and rabbits are vegetarians. Why not get another rabbit instead that would be a better idea.
you can not feed it rabit food,

but you could feed it cat food, just make sure it is high in protien!
    Absolutely NOT.

They have totally different digestive systems.

Rabbits are herbivores - they eat vegetation.

Ferrets are carnivores - they eat rabbits.
Sorry for the language, but H E LL NO! Do your research on ferrets and your find out that ferrets need atleast 40% protein in their food and rabbit food is vegetarian. Ferrets are strickly meat eaters and if you cant afford them dont get them.
    No.

    They have difference nutritional needs.

  • My Labrador Retriever found a rabbit?

He didnt eat it but he almost killed it! I had to drag my dog inside without him seeing the rabbit escape. The worst part is he tasted the blood. Is he okay? I know he is a hunting dog but he is only a year old.My Labrador Retriever found a rabbit?
    hes fine

but if he starts to act sick and stuff

then i would go to the vetMy Labrador Retriever found a rabbit?
I'm sure your dog is absolutely fine. The poor rabbit probably bit the dust.

Labs are hunting dogs. Your dog was only doing what was in his nature to do. I wouldn't worry about it, but if it bothers you, be sure to supervise him when you let him outside, or he'll do it every time he catches something.

If you're worried about rabies or something else transferred through the blood, take him to the vet. If he's up to date on shots, he's fine.
I've had labs that have killed rabbits before. They usually try to play with it like a toy and grab it by the neck and shake it until they break the rabbits neck. I know it sounds gruesome, but I think that it's just in the dogs nature. Nothing ever hap pend with the dogs - they were actually quite proud of themselves. Just because your dog did it once, doesn't mean that they'll do it again, but remember that it's all in their instinct and their prey drive.
If he tasted the blood there is always a small chance of rabies or other diseases, but most likely he will be fine if he didn't actually eat it. There is prob. nothing to worry about, but if you would like to be sure you can call your vet and ask, but most likely they will ask you to bring him in. Good luck!
It's ok, my dogs do that all the time i dont like it but i cant stop it. im impressed u were able to save the rabbit. Even though he seems young its obvious that he's ready for hunting, my dogs dont hunt but they still kill things like opposums, raccoons, rabbits, squirrels, and some other things like birds. So it's ok, and he is not to young to hunt. hope this helps.
He'll be fine a lil blood never hurt any dog and being a year old has nothing to do with it. A lil rabbit also would have been good for him anyways. My great aunt/s dogs regularly hunt down squirrels and rabbits on their own in addition to what she feeds them and they are perfectly fine.
Well, as I have heard from my doctor, RABBIT BLOOD DOES NOT KILL US!! Sorry for using allbig letters but its hard typing when u don't have fingers.

Hunting dog u say? Where does he live can u give me his number?

    Anyway, sniff ya later!
well, he's one hungry dog..feed him well..otherwise he might do such things...and it's quite natural for dogs 2 do that..

labs rock!!!!! well if u dont want him to be ahunting dog..just restrict him from going outside..take him to some other place where u think it's rabbit free..in my opinion..he's gud as of now..

    there's nothing to worry..
At his age, it is normal for dogs to chase other animals, but if you want him to stop, you are going to have to train him well, or get him neutered.
He'll be fine. Just make sure he's up to date on all of his shots. My lab used to do the same thing to poor bunnies and he was just fine. . . it's part of the hunting instinct.
you shouldn't worry about it....my dogs catch rabbits and stuff all the time...and little mice....it is pretty gross but i cant do anything. If he starts acting crazy you should take him to the vet to be safe....
Looks like he's just doing what his breeding programmed into him. See rabbit. Kill rabbit.

Edit: two thumbs down so far... most likely by people who have forgotten that dogs are predators.
he should be good, if he starts acting crazy nuts, take him to a vet if not, hes cool
Take him to the vet to be safe.
    is the rabbit still there?

Rabbit do not learn these types of things. They do not have the brain capacity to do so. They are not like dogs and cats.

    Thumper

    Floppy

    Honey

    Speckles

JackWhat should i call my rabbit?
Her rose coloured eyes make her an albino, but I wouldn't name her that. My daughter had a beautiful creamy-white hamster a few years ago, and his eyes were black, so she named him Pip because his eyes looked just like apple pips! You say your rabbit has a little black nose, so maybe you could call her Pip too, or even Pippin, for the same reason.
You should name her Rose or Oreo, cookie, vanilla, or.......

THUMPER!!!!!! (you know, from Bambi?) :D
    Alice?

    Rose?

    Vanilla?

    Bella?
I am terribly unimaginative when it comes to naming animals. My hamsters have always been hamstie and if I had your rabbit it would probably be called bunny, canines are doggie or big dog if they are big! Sorry
    Pepper or Domino
    Kaalu

its kinda derived from the hindi word for black

  • Do they still have a rabbit overpopulation problem in Australia?

According to this site, the answer is yes.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rabbits_in_鈥?/a>Do they still have a rabbit overpopulation problem in Australia?
Yes we do. Why? Because they breed like.. er .. rabbits!

Is it normal for a rabbit to eat vegetables??

My rabbit loves vegetables more than rabbit food is it okIs it normal for a rabbit to eat vegetables??
Yea duh didn't you ever see Bugs Bunny? Is it normal for a rabbit to eat vegetables??
    Holw old is your rabbit?

Bunnies under a year can eat unlimited alfalfa pellets .Rabbits over a year old should be eatting very limited timothy based pellets - about 1/4 cup per 5 pounds of bunny.

Bunnies over 12 weeks can start to eat veggies. Your adult bunny should be eating lots of timothy hay and about 2 cups of green veggies every day. Good veggie choices include: flat leaf parsley, dill, cilantro, red lettuce

    List of good veggies: http://www.rabbit.org/care/veggies.html

It is also very important to get your rabbit spayed or neutered, as female rabbits have a VERY high rate of uterine cancer in unspayed females.
of course, its good for them to munch on. always give them natural foods.
you don't feed it other rabbits?
duh......................... thats what my bunny does!!!!
In the wild a rabbit's natural diet would be vegetables.

Be careful about giving him lettuce, though. It could upset his tummy.
rabbits eat veggies in the wild so it shouldn't be a problem with domesticated ones, i'm sure rabbit food doesn't taste too great (ask my 3 year old, he thought he'd give it a taste when i let him feed the bunny). my dwarf bunny liked pizza too....i wouldn't suggest giving it to yours.....
Yes that is ok. It sounds like you need some rabbit education. Please read these websites and I recommend the book The House Rabbit Handbook.
He must have taken a wrong turn at Albuquerque
Of course, that's what rabbits eat.
Yup, it's normal, but you should try to get him/her to eat either timothy hay or alfalfa hay as well. This helps them with their digestive system, especially with all this super warm weather lately.
of course it is normal. that is what rabbits eat in the wild.
yep its normal. but for some reason my dwarf rabbit doesnt like veggies.
    Yes.

Rabbits enjoy most greens and they're good for them so you shouldn't worry.

Most rabbit magazines will suggest that you supplement your base diet (pellet food, complete food mix you buy from the pet store etc) with greens or vegetables.

This summer I even planted a bit of a rabbit garden for my senior bun. You can try some kale, collards, arugula, mustard greens, dandelion greens, chard, endive, broccoli, rosemary, basil, mint, parsley, or cilantro.

Your bunny will enjoy them and they're easy to grow.
Absolutely! My dwarf rabbit is now 11 years old and has eaten fruits and vegetables for years. We buy her the gourmet bunny food, it has dried fruits and veggies in it as well. But she'll eat carrots, lettuce (in small amounts) and especially apples! She loves alfalfa, and yogourt drops too. My rabbit would prefer to eat apples and yogourt drops anyday over regular rabbit pelets. They are included in the gourmet bunny food, but she picks though them, and doesn't want to eat those pieces, so we have extra vitamins that we put in her water.
    Yeah that is perfectly normal.
yes that is mostly what rabbits eat. unless you go to a pet store and buy them rabbit food but i think that also has veggies in it

I promised my kids a rabbit, it comes this week, did I make a mistake??

Some of my friends say that I made a big mistake in getting this bunny, that they stink and are very hard to care for, others say they are a joy, and don't smell, who is right???I promised my kids a rabbit, it comes this week, did I make a mistake??
We started out with two bunnies about 6 or 7 years ago. Then we decided to let the kids have a chance to breed and experience that new life coming into the world. We now have over 70 rabbits. My girls breed and show competitively.

Having rabbits is a great experience. First they give the kids the opportunity to learn the importance of character. My girls have to feed rabbits when its hot, when its cold, and even when they don't really fell like doing it. If their going to be gone, they will hire one of their sisters or friends to do the work for them.

Honestly, they aren't very hard to care for. Food and water everyday is what they mainly need to survive. Of course, we exercise with, play and groom all of the rabbits. My youngest daughter started when she was 5 with her first bunny.

There are many reasons rabbits can smell. The first is the cage isn't kept clean. Frequent cleanings will keep the smell to a minimum. You can also litter train the rabbit which will reduce the smell.

When rabbits reach sexual maturity, the bucks will have a tendency to spray, this can also carry a strong odor. To avoid this, if you don't plan to breed, have the rabbits spayed and neutered.

Food can also be a contributing factor to the various smells a rabbit can generate. Look for feeds that contain Yucca, which is a supplement that will also reduce odors. You can also add a few drops of vanilla to their water to limit the odors.

I think you made a great choice, and I'm sure you and your children will enjoy having rabbits!I promised my kids a rabbit, it comes this week, did I make a mistake??
My rabbit chewed on anything he could get his teeth on. the doors. the molding. electrical cords. anything...

they can be litter trained but i could not get mine to do so .

If you are a diligent cleaner you can keep up with his/ her messes. But I would not get another one.
Rabbits are a nice pet. I used to have one that was paper-trained. Just let him roam for a few hours a day and don't keep him in a cage 24/7, even after the kids get bored with him. And don't let them scold it or spank it. Rabbits don't learn like dogs.

    http://www.bio.miami.edu/hare/training.h鈥?/a>

    .
There waste smells just like any other animal would. You have to keep the area cleaned out. Rabbits are like cats and dogs, they scratch and bite every once in a while. It will be a learning experience for all of you. It is not the neighbors who will be taking care of it so don't listen to them.
i had an outside rabbit.. it didnt smell. cleaned regularly.. my friend had an indoor loppy and it didnt smell either.. usually its use a matter of cleaning their bedding and waste.. usually 2 or 3 times a week.. maybe less.. make sure you give the bunny time to adjust to the new surroundings..
I used to have two rabbits -- never had a problem with them getting smelly, but you do have to clean the cage regularly. One was a joy, friendly and cuddly, sweet and loving. The other was a holy terror -- biting, scratching, vicious. I got them both together as babies and raised them the same, so it wasn't an issue with a past owner scaring or beating her -- it was just a personality trait.

I've heard that they can be litter trained but I never managed to train mine to do ANYTHING. Be very careful of wires, they'll chew through them. Use a metal cage so he/she can't chew through it, too. And don't get a second bunny unless you're absolutely sure that they're same-sex, or you have your bunny neutered first.

    Good luck!
Good luck. Yes they can be smelly but you have to clean the cage regularly (often). They can also be agressive once they reach puberty (just a few months old). Your sweet little bunny can turn into a gremlin and bite and scratch. If you are planning to keep inside they can be litter box trained but they chew on everything so keep lamp cords up and out of reach. If you plan to keep outdoors he must be protected against elements and predators. Kids tend to lose interest so I hope you like bunnies.
rabbits can be wonderful pets. they can be litter trained easily and you can buy a supplement to help with the smell (which isn't bad compared to other small animals like rats and ferrets) and keep the cage clean with plenty of toys and room to run around about an hour a day.
If you keep the cage clean, it won't smell bad.. but, that is a bit of work.. The good news is most are easily litter trained, and can be free roaming while you are home.. ( they will chew wires so supervision or rabbit proofing is important).. They can be great pets.
There are actually rabbits that are litter trained, and you can let them run freely around the house! how fun would that be??
Rabbits can be trained to use the litter box, and let run free in your house. Mine is litter trained, and I let him have free run of the house...for a while. He decided that I had no authority over him and would hide under the end table beside the couch and chew the lamp cord. That is something you cannot stop...a rabbit from chewing...as they are rodents, you know. My suggestion would be to get a hutch, and keep it in there and just let your kids play with it when they want to. Don't let it out otherwise.
It'll be fun for the first few weeks, then the realities of cleaning it out, feeding it, petting it....hit. Children get bored of pets easily. They'll love playing with it but there's no chance they'll look after it, so that's all down to you now. Rabbits are lovely, but I'd never give a child under 8 a pet, they tend to treat them like toys, and throw them around, hit them, squeeze them too hard...

All I can say is, good luck.

Can I put a Guinea Pig in with my male rabbit?

I have a 4-5 month male rabbit and want some company for him, If I bought a guinea pig would they live happily togetherCan I put a Guinea Pig in with my male rabbit?
I second everything Oregano said. Never mix small animals together!

However, you are perfectly right in wanting a companion for your rabbit. I assume he is not neutered? To start, you should do this first. Neutering a male rabbit not only increases his life expectancy, reduces chances of cancers and other hormone-related illnesses, but makes him more docile too. So you could then get him another neutered rabbit without them fighting, or a spayed female rabbit without them reproducing.

If you do not want to neuter him, although it is most advisable, then pair him up with a spayed female for safety. While even intact male rabbits can live in peace, you have a better chance of success by mixing a male with a female. Of course, she will have to be spayed.

    Check out this site:

    http://ww.petfinder.com

You can adopt a rabbit of any age, breed, size or colour. Rabbits in most shelters are already neutered/spayed, so you will save money by adopting, rather than buying an intact rabbit from a pet store. Plus you will save a life :)Can I put a Guinea Pig in with my male rabbit?
They should not be kept together/allowed to play for a variety of reasons. While some people keep them together without problems, there can be disastrous results and it is not at all a good idea. Why would you want to risk your pet's health?

    1. Rabbits and guinea pigs each commonly carry bacteria that, while harmless to the carrier, can kill the other species. For example, up to 80% of rabbits have been shown to be Pasteurella multocida carriers (will culture positive for the bacteria on nasal swab). While it usually causes the rabbit no problems or symptoms at all, it can easily kill a guinea pig who is exposed.

    2. Rabbits fed a guinea pig diet long term will ultimately suffer from vitamin C toxicity. Guinea pigs fed a rabbit diet will be deficient in Vitamin C. Their diets are not compatible.

    3. Rabbits have incredibly powerful hind legs, and a single kick (intentional or not and even from a small sized rabbit) can seriously injure or kill the guinea pig.

Overall, it is not worth the risk.
Will you be getting a guinea pig JUST for your rabbit's company? Before you do, here are some things to think about:

Rabbits and guinea pigs can not be housed together. The two species need to eat two completely different brand foods. Plus, because rabbits can kick, your guinea pig could easily get kicked in the face if he accidently startles your rabbit (especially if the cage is small). The two need their own cages.

Guinea pigs and rabbits make great companions, but only for floor time (which needs to be supervised by a responsible owner).

Both can live to be up to 8 years old (rabbits sometimes older).

I suggest reading up more on guinea pigs before getting one. If you're afraid your rabbit is bored when you're away, provide him with toys he can chew on and toss around (special rabbit toys can be bought at your local pet store). When you come home from work/school, let your rabbit out of the cage for floor time. Talking to your rabbit's veterinarian about getting a guinea pig as a companion would be another option. Hope this helps.
idk why everyone is saying no.... i know a lot of people who have kept the 2 together with no problems, they get along very well from my experience
Guinea pigs should not be kept with rabbits for risks such as

    ILLNESS

    INJURIES

    MALNUTRITUION

    UNHAPPINESS

    Thanks ;)

How do i make a multi story condo for my rabbit?

They are the wire frames used to build crate like cubes commonly used in dorm rooms or by a teenager. These wire frames are sold under other names too and are the basic building blocks for creating our rabbit condo. Stores such as Staples, Wal-mart and Sams Club carry them.

The effort was a little time consuming, but not overly difficult. Condos are easily customized. The two main supplies are the wire frames and plastic electrical ties (or ';tie wraps';) to hold them together. You will also need latches to hold the doors shut. Snap shackles or 1 1/4'; binder clips work well. For shelves, we used pegboard covered with indoor/outdoor carpet placed on top of the wire frames with some wood underneath to provide extra support.

Instead of using the wire for the bottom of the condo, we built a wood base and covered it with linoleum. The assembled wire condo frame can be seated on the wooden base, within a wood rim.

First you need to figure out the dimensions of your condo. The wire frames are 14';x14'; and most condos are 2 frames deep, 3 frames wide and 3 frames tall. We had extra supplies and vertical space wasn't an issue, so we chose to make ours one layer taller. Shelves are used to jump to different levels in the condo and my rabbits prefer them to ramps. The first shelf is smaller, only one frame wide by 2 frames deep. Additional shelves are 2 frames wide by 2 frames deep. We used 6 wire frames for the roof, while some people prefer to create a wood top. Traditional size with roof, one small shelf and one regular shelf requires 42 frames. Our larger size with one more layer in height and one more shelf used 56 frames.

Most of the wire frames come in boxes which also contain connectors. We never tried them as we heard that they were not sturdy enough. Common consensus is to tie your frames together using electrical ties. We laid out the sides of our condo and tied them together. We also created our shelves. This was time consuming, but not difficult. When you first start assembling the entire structure seems wobbly; however it really firms up once you have it together. Don't worry about doors right now as you can always just snip ties to create one or add ties to take one away. When you get your walls created you will start to tie the walls together. Before you tie all the walls together, you need to put the shelves in. This can be tricky as the framework doesn't have much stability yet and may require two people; one to hold and one to tie. We placed the lower shelf at the top of the lowest wire frame, at 14';. The larger shelf we put on the opposite side, 2 grids below the top of the second wire frame, at 24';. Once we had the shelves in place we placed the pegboard on top. You can always place the shelves where they make sense for your rabbits.

When the walls were all tied together, we added some wood beneath the shelves to provide extra support. Some people purchase dowels. We found regular wood to be cheaper and the buns love to chew on it! Just measure to fit inside the wire frame holes. We cut them 29'; so that they just stuck out past the edge. If you have litter box-trained rabbits and you aren't worried about your floor, you don't even need to build a bottom floor for your condo. We decided to take some plywood, put sides around it to keep hay, etc., inside, and then covered it with linoleum. If I had to do it over again, I would place the walls inside the wire frame as this would make it easier to clean.

Is my rabbit pregnent when is she gonna have the baby rabbits?

i took my rabbit to a male rabbit and she has been pulling her fur out yesterday and today when is she gonna have themIs my rabbit pregnent when is she gonna have the baby rabbits?
The average gestation period for rabbits is 31 days, but can be anywhere from 29 to 35 days. She's pulling out her fur because she wants to make a ';nest'; for the bunnies. Give her a clean box to make her nest.Is my rabbit pregnent when is she gonna have the baby rabbits?
in a few weeks.. get ready! make sure u have lots of grass,,. so she kan make her nest..also if u have the male make sure u separate them.
well this is not a rabbit answer but are you single im curious
Ugh!! That does not sound like fun!! Poor thing sounds like she is in pain. So maybe soon!
30 days is typical. Give her a nest box on the 27th day and expect them on the 30th day. Wait as long as the 35th day. If she has not delivered and are sure she was pregnant, take her to a vet so he can see how many there were. He may want to get out any dead babies.
I am not sure on how many days before you female rabbit gives birth. but when she starts pull fur she is making a bed/nest for the babies to stay warm. it is only matter of time.

Here something you should now when the female rabbit gives birth you must take the male rabbit away and fast if you don't you wont have baby rabbits. because the male eats them and no budy nos why.
after the rabbit has decided on the spot where she is going to have her babies, she will line the nest with hair she plucks out, mainly from the belly , this is done to expose her teats to make feeding easy. If you have observed your doe going through these moves then you can expect the young ones in a day or two.
Is it a definite that the rabbit is pregnant? I'm not sure how quick rabbit's give birth, but if it is today, congratulations.

Would a Mini Rex naturally breed with a Netherland Dwarf rabbit?

if they shared a cage, and weren't both the same genderWould a Mini Rex naturally breed with a Netherland Dwarf rabbit?
WHY WOULD YOU WANT TO CREATE MUTT RABBITS. THERE ARE ENOUGH TRYING TO FIND HOMES.

But, yes the could breed if one was a female and one a male. Although mini-rex are born with fur that looks like any other rabbit's, as soon as they turn four months of age they will change fur and it will be the soft velvety kind.****** But, if you breed a netherland dwarf to a mini-rex it won't ever develop that nice fur that characterizes mini-rex's fur to any other rabbit.*****

If you want your mini-rex to be smaller (and actually have studied genetics to understand something about rabbits and not just breed because) then you should buy some mini-rex , the smaller the better. Then, once the first litter is born keep the smallest of that litter, and so on until they are the size you want them to be.

How do you think we got mini-rex from rex?Would a Mini Rex naturally breed with a Netherland Dwarf rabbit?
Yes rabbits that are not the same breed can mate. They buck(male) should always be smaller than the doe (female). That way the kits (babies) will not be too big for the doe to kindle(deliver).

If the Mini Rex is the buck you should not let them live together and mate. Also a buck will continually mate the doe. She will become quite angry and attack the buck even to the point of killing him. Each rabbit should have it's own cage.Bucks will breed a doe immediately after she gives birth.

Please do not produce cross breed rabbits.
Any two rabbits can breed but why would you let them? Why make crossbreed rabbits which will even be harder to place and find good homes for them. Don't breed unless you are serious about their bloodlines and breed genetics/characteristics. Instead, spay and neuter them, and give them a longer healthier life.

What does the saying ';Ain't no Fun When the Rabbit's Got the Gun'; mean?

I heard this saying in a song and I'm not sure I get the meaning. What does the saying ';Ain't no Fun When the Rabbit's Got the Gun'; mean?
It's like another way of saying ';the shoe's on the other foot now!'; - the situation is reversed and the one who was in a position of power is now in..not a good position. What does the saying ';Ain't no Fun When the Rabbit's Got the Gun'; mean?
I've actually never heard that saying.

But if a rabbits gets a gun and starts shooting at a hunter, the hunter's gonna be like WTF and think, well, maybe this hunting business isn't that amazing after all.

So, for instance, if you're bullying someone and they bully you, you're gonna be like O_O that doesn't feel too great.

    ... Or something.
I'd have to hear it in context to know for sure, but it sounds like it's referring to hunting.

My guess about the general idea of the quote is that it stinks to have the normal circumstances reversed.
Rabbits are usually the hunted. As in, a hunter with a gun is chasing a rabbit, but the rabbit turns around and pulls a gun. Then you get shot by a rabbit. That just ain't no fun.

We would need to see a picture to tell you accurately. There are so many mixed breed rabbits out there that even saying the size of rabbit, the ears, the head, could literally mean nothing. Black rings around the eyes aren't exactly a one-breed colour marking. What kind of Rabbit do I have?
It must be one of those tropical invisibale ones. Naw just kiding. Like they said we need a picture. Try this site, to help you find out what you breed is. Ok!

  • What do Baby Rabbit's eat & will it go back to it's den?

Hi i just saved a baby rabbit from the jaws of my cats mouth, and i wrapped it up and put it back out in the field hoping that it's parents might come back and get it because there is alot of rabits that hang around here. It was still with it and moving it's legs a little but i dont know for sure if my cat broke it's neck or not.

Will the baby rabbit go with the other rabbits or if i go back later tonight and it's still there what should i feed it?What do Baby Rabbit's eat %26amp; will it go back to it's den?
well baby rabbits eat just about anything but nothing to hard give them mostly green vegetables or if u a hard cabbage boil first then feed it to them and if u plan on returning him to the field u speak of do it night when there's no one or nothing there hope this helpWhat do Baby Rabbit's eat %26amp; will it go back to it's den?
I had rabbits as a kid and I had a big mistake with the first litter of bunnies. I didn't know if you don't take the father out he would kill them. I also didn't know that if you handled the babies as new born they mother might also kill them. If this bunny you rescued is really a tiny baby, even if the parents do find it, it may not be good news. Sorry. :( But if the bunny is a bit older you can get bunny food or just give varrots and other veggies and plenty of water and he might do just fine.
Hay and rabbit pellets... you can buy them at your local pet store. You may also want to get a litter box so it has a place to go to the bathroom. Wood shavings inside a small box that it can hop into will work just fine. Get the woods shavings at your pet store too.
You can feed him carrots, and pretty much any kind of vegetables
feed it carrots or rabbit pellets if your not sure then consult a

    vet.

Will using a resume posting company such as Resume Rabbit really help you get more job interviews, etc.?

Is it worth my spending the money? Will using a resume posting company such as Resume Rabbit really help you get more job interviews, etc.?
As a Corporate Recruiter my answer is ';NO';. I receive many resumes from similar services and it seems the resumes are simply sent to recruiters for random positions nothing of which we would be hiring.

I would say save your money !

Why does my rabbit bite my clothing when i cuddle him???

Im really fed up i have a lovely little pet rabbit to look at in his cage but when i get him out he bites my clothing??he has untreated wood to chew on in his cage and plenty of toys.

what can i do he is very well looked after so i cant understand? Why does my rabbit bite my clothing when i cuddle him???
He just likes how the cloth feels in his teeth. My guinea pig does the same thing. What you can try to do is when you hold him, wrap him ip in an old towel or blanket that you don't mind if he chews on, that way he can have his fabric to chew on and you can cuddle with himWhy does my rabbit bite my clothing when i cuddle him???
He's a horny little monster. Isn't that why you got him?
aw, it's cause he loves you. Those little nibbles on clothes is just a sign of affection. Have a treat in your hand to give him when you hold him and he may stop nibbling on your clothes.
mine does the same thing. b/c she wants me to put her down so she can run around. I don't think bunnies like to be held. I let mine run around and she'll come up to me and lick my hand or whatever. (sign or affection) They really like their space, but if you want to play with him, they like to be pet/rubbed on the nose.

I found a rabbit in the tall grasses of my front yard...what do i feed it??

There was no nest, no other babies, and I never saw the mother. I guess that the poor girlie is around 6 weeks old b/c she can walk and stuff but she doesn't really jump.I found a rabbit in the tall grasses of my front yard...what do i feed it??
Put it back where you found it. Female rabbits generally leave there off spring for most of the day and only come back to feed them for a few minutes. Also if the baby really is 6 weeks old it is weaned and ready to live on its own as rehabbers who raise them generally release them at 3-4 weeksI found a rabbit in the tall grasses of my front yard...what do i feed it??
you can feed the baby rabbit chopped up carrots, lettuce, if it doesnt eat solids you can give it 1 egg yolk in its water so it can get nutrients, otherwise go to the pet shop and get some baby rabbit food, baby rabbit food has more nutrients than adult, also you can feed it fruit apples, banana, stuff like that.

    hope this is helpful
they sell rabbit pellets at walmart, if it can walk its probably ok on its own......rabbits dont stay with mom very long anyway.
    rabbit formula and rabbit food
go to the pet store and get some rabbit food
baby cut up carrots and celery
It's just fine. Put it back outside in a safe place and leave it alone. They eat the tender part of plants. Bushes, flowers, grass, dandelions. I put out fresh lettuce for the wild cottontail rabbits at our house and they love it.

If you have a rose bush or some other kind of thorny bush put it right underneath it. They hang out there to keep safe from predators.
I assume her eyes are open... do you see her peeing or pooping on her own?

IF not... then she is too young to be without mom....

Mom rabbits lick the baby's tummy's to help them eliminate waste..

IF you have not seen any pee or poop this bunny will likely die unless you can get it to a rehabber or other trained people to care for it.

ALso rabbits are out on thier own at a young age often times..

If this bunny seems to be able to pee and poop on its own and so on ..Id not try to keep it as a pet.

You can buy some commerical rabbit chow for it at just about any store.. look in pet food isle by hamster and bird foods.

And put down clean water.... this way you are giving it a source of food and water....

IF it is 6 weeks I doubt its orphaned.

    Here is some good reading.....

Very young wild baby bunnies with eyes closed and ears back rarely survive in captivity, even given the most expert human care; and so it is very important to determine whether they really need help. Try to assess whether the infants seem warm and healthy or cold, thin, and dehydrated. One test for dehydration is to gently pinch the loose skin at the back of the neck. If it stays in a ';tent,'; or does not spring back in one second, the bunny is SEVERELY dehydrated and needs rehabilitation IMMEDIATELY by a professional rabbit vet or rehabber. Another test is to stroke the genital area to stimulate elimination. If the pee is brown and gritty, the mother rabbit has not been there to help the bunnies urinate. The brown, gritty urine is toxic, and the infant bunny must be cared for by a professional. Please contact a Wildlife Rehabilitator or rabbit vet immediately.

Older baby bunnies who are found outside of the nest may not be orphaned or in need of assistance. Baby cottontails are born without fur but develop a full coat in a week. Their eyes open in 10 days, and in three to four weeks they are weaned. At this age, they may explore the world outside of the nest but return there to sleep. They are not ignored by the mother but stay with the family group until four or five weeks of age. To determine whether a bunny of this age needs assistance, perform the dehydration test. Also look for bleeding, convulsing, fly larvae, broken limbs; if any, get to a rabbit vet or emergency vet immediately. If he is just out and about, leave him be. He is discovering his world, waiting for mom to return at night when we humans are asleep.

I do hope that helps... SHe was likely in tall grass hiding out from Hawks and other predators.

    GOod Luck
