Why Is My Bunny Rabbit Acting So Aggressively?

My bunny has recently started to display some weird aggressive behavior. He's ';chasing'; me around and it looks like he wants to che my pant leg and he is also stamping his back feet at me. Until now he's always been a great bunny. He's also being aggressive with my husband as well. Any idea why a previously good natured bunny would suddenly start acting aggressive like this? If it keeps up we'll have to get rid of him.Why Is My Bunny Rabbit Acting So Aggressively?
Has he been neutered? If he hasn't, you might want to consider doing so as the hormones rushing through his body may be the cause of the sudden change in behavior. Why Is My Bunny Rabbit Acting So Aggressively?
it's mating season!
Your bunnie, probably wants to be breeding. If you dont wish to breed him, please get him nurtered. If you dont get him fixed, his chances of getting testicular cancer goes way up.
Sounds as though it's breeding season. The following you around at your feet is his attempts at ';herding'; you. His testosterone level is increased and he's searching for a mate??? The stomping could be other things, but considering the 'herding', it's probably a part of his mating ritual. Since you are more intimate w/the minute details of his behavior, take a look at this site and see if you can decipher his behavior better...

If he's scratching at you w/his hind legs, he may be defendinghis territory.
Your bunny wants to mate! As for the thumping... hes frustrated because he can't find a mate! He will get through this stage soon.. Then he should calm down.. You can get him neutered if you like, some people oppose because they are such fragile creatures and it is fairly common for them to die while the operation is being done.
it is mating season and maybe he is in a bad mood.
If you are planing to wait till ';mating season'; is over you ought to take a seat because it's gonna take awhile, depending on the breed of the rabbit this could be 5-6 yrs for a male and 3 years for a female. You should definitely neuter him, it's inexpensive compare to all the damage an aggressive bunny can make. In addition to his aggressiveness he has a greater risk of getting testicular, or prostate cancer if un-neutered. Just don't get rid of it, believe me after you ';fix'; him he will go back to his charming self and keeping him can make it all worthwhile.
