What will happen to my rabbit?

I am now worried for my rabbit,my cousin thought it was a good idea to give her a bath and she added softsoap to her fur and wetted her with water. my uncle says it will ';burn'; her fur. Is it true? what can i do?What will happen to my rabbit?
no it wont burn her fur but it will very likly give her dry itchy skin

rabbits do not like water and a bath could very easily stress a rabbit out to a point that it goes into shock. please if your rabbit really needs to be cleaned again do it with a wet cloth and dry towel and only spot clean her with pure water. there isnt much you can do now except watch her closley to be sure that she hasnt ingested any of the soap. if she shows signs of not eating or drinking, seems sluggish or generly sick take her to a vet. rabbits wash themselves daily just like cats and are very good at keeping themselves clean. if your rabbit has long hair you could brush her once a day but leave the baithing to her. if she gets poo stuck in her hair around her bottom, has runny poo or is generly not cleaning herself she has a problem and needs to see a vet. but if she has the occassional ';rasin'; stuck in her fur gently brush it out for her. if she is an outdoor rabbit she is going to be somewhat dirty no question and your going to have to live with that. What will happen to my rabbit?
Bathing a rabbit should only be done in the most extreme of circumstances!

Do you know if the water and soap got on her face? If not you're slightly safer, but you need to keep an eye on her, if she isn't dry yet dry her gently with a soft towel or a hair dryer set on low and held not too close to her. Soap can irritate her skin, and hot water can burn, so go over it carefully and see if it looks okay. If you're at all worried, take her to a vet that has experience with rabbits to ask for advice, and smack your cousin round the head.
It will not burn their fur.

But rabbits DO NOT need bathes! They should NOT be given bathes! It will make their coats nasty.

They can get really scared when you give them bathes, too and therefore do not need it! They are naturally clean animals and they clean themselves.

Please DO NOT bath your bunny again!

Why would you let your cousin give your rabbit a bath? Rabbits are extremely clean animals. I've had them as pets for over 14 years and not once did I have to give a bath. If it has a poopy bottom, there might be an illness that's keeping it from eating it's cecal poops every night. In that case, do take your bun to a rabbit savvy vet.
It's not going to ';burn her skin'; but she might have dandruf (SP?) now. Next time just use cat shampoo.

You only really need to wash a rabbit if they are REALLY dirty, they are like cats, they clean them selfs.
Well I have rabbits and I give them a bath with animal soap just in case so I don't hurt them.It might not hurt her but from now on you should probably use animal soap which you can buy at pet stores or walmart.
she should be okay just dry her off and feed her
