My rabbit figured out how to open his cage?

its just a simple cage, but our other rabbit never learned how to open it. this one, ricky, can just open it and run out and around anytime he pleases. this is not a good thing, i don't want him running around the house at night on his own. he might not know how to get back to his cage. what can i do to stop him from doing this?My rabbit figured out how to open his cage?
some..well most cages come with little stops that you can clip over the door. It would be easier to determine how to hep with a picture, but i'm giving it a go anyway...

If the whole cage is plastic, than you might be able to tape it. If there are some wire bars anywhere on the cage, you can use those little twisty ties or string to keep it shut. i do that with my bunny, she has fun trying to pull off the twisty ties, but she never can. Is the door on top of the cage? if it is you can use a book or something to rest on top of it..something that is too heavy for Ricky to open it. If it is on the side or front of the cage, you can lean a heavy book against the door, but that isnt a total guarantree that he wont be albe to push his way out. The only other thing i can suggest is trying to find a new cage which is made better quality for curious bunnies. Hope i helped. My rabbit figured out how to open his cage?
if it is a wire cage, use one of those big metal clips (paper binder clips)

my gerbil figured out how to open his cage so i have to use one on hig cage. now he never escapes
As I see it you have two choices: -

1) Get a ';more difficult'; cage; perhaps even a dog crate (42'; is a good size for two buns %26amp; a 2nd level can be added)

2) Fasten the closure with something, string, wire, zip-ties
You could use a large binder clip (like the kind used in offices for stacks of paper) through the bars to clip the door closed at night. This is assuming this is a wire bar cage.
tie a ribbon around the door to keep it shut and put the rabbit in a room with a locked door
