Why dose my rabbit dig things that aren't dirt?

She digs the couch and my bed and blankets, and my boobies. Why dose my rabbit dig things that aren't dirt?
Digging has nothing to do with being in heat. Our 6-year-old neutered male dwarf used to go nuts digging every time he was allowed up on the bed. He dug at the comforter so much my wife eventually cut up an old blanket into little squares he could dig at and push around.

Watch the YouTube video ';Howard's Big Dig'; and you'll see the same classic digging motions our little guy used to do -- as if loosening soil in a hole and then pushing the loose dirt out of the way.

Our theory is that some rabbits just have a strong instinct to dig tunnels.

Give yours an old telephone book to rip up, and maybe that will help dissipate her extra energy and save your boobies. Why dose my rabbit dig things that aren't dirt?
Some rabbits get carried away with digging as it is a natural instinct and dig anything.

Un spayed does will dig to try to escape to a place where they can find a buck and breed. If your doe is not spayed i suggest that you get her done to calm her instincts. It may not totally get rid of the problem but will help.

Rabbits will also dig if they are fearful to try and get away from the problem, they may also bite or chew material in frustration.
Digging has nothing to do with heat or horniness.

Although your rabbit is domestic, digging is a wild instinct and sticks with almost every rabbit. They dig to test the surface they are on or near, if it is soft or hard, able to be a burrow or not etc.
She is a rabbit. Her instinct is to dig. Wild rabbits are only ever on dirt. They don't have couches, blankets, or boobies... If they want to dig, they dig.
She is trying to hide when she does this try tucking her head in your elbow or if you are sitting on the floor in the bend of your knee
As a rabbit breeder, i would translate that as 'i'm feeling a little horny...' so basically she's on heat... She will stop after a few days.
